New Component: Vertical Video

Announcement

This week we’re introducing the Vertical Video component — a way to embed vertical videos on your Drupal Cloud site.

Designed to display embedded YouTube vertical videos (such as YouTube Shorts), this component supports the growing trend of vertical video content on social media and mobile platforms, where users typically capture and view videos in portrait orientation.

The Vertical Video component can be added anywhere you would typically embed video content.

Features of the Vertical Video Component

The Vertical Video component offers two display styles:

  • Single Video: features a single video highlight with a full-width display that includes a title, description and YouTube channel handle alongside the embedded video. The video can be aligned to the left or right to best complement your page layout.
  • Multiple Videos: displays embedded videos in a three-column layout on desktop browsers, which collapses into fewer columns or a single column on mobile or smaller screens. This style is recommended when you are embedding several videos that belong together, such as a series or related content.

Usage Guide

We’ve developed a usage guide that outlines best practices for the Vertical Video component and helps you avoid common pitfalls:
