These new crops improve user experience by supporting a variety of display contexts and screen sizes, as well as images used in social media posts and search engine results.

• Classic: A landscape-style crop that will serve as the default preview image if the person page appears in search results or on social media platforms.
• Portrait: A vertical crop with a standard 4:5 aspect ratio. In the coming weeks, this crop will replace the longer portrait crop ("Portrait Classic") currently used on individual person pages.

Using and Reviewing New People Crops

To make the introduction of the new people crops as seamless as possible, default crops for both Classic and Portrait have been automatically applied to all existing images on the Person content types. Because image compositions vary, we strongly recommend reviewing each crop and adjusting them as needed to ensure images are properly framed and displayed.

For new Person images, selecting both Classic and Portrait crops is now a required part of the upload process, just like the existing crops.
